I strolled the length of the platform on a very chilly morning to see the 7:15 Amtrak Acela Avelia Liberty train depart for Washington

Approaching the earliest sunset of the year today, I'm sad about the 4:11 sunset in Boston. But on the upside, my commute is far enough west that my sunset is delayed to 4:13 instead - yay!

Out of curiosity I found that it could be worse:
4:08 Eastham

4:03 Portland, ME
3:41 Hamlin, ME

A rail trail extends from a main line out into a residential neighborhood but remains fenced off while work continues on the train station

The sidewalks were a bit slick this morning and Dorchester Ave still glistened at dawn

Amtrak has one of their new Avelia Liberty trains serving the Acela route to Washington today instead of the usual older trains!

I usually only see the new trains on the very rare occasions when I’m at South Station before 6 am.

Bikes on a train - even though the weather has been freezing (but dry) with strong winds, the usual bike commuters are still doing their multimodal commutes on the #MBTA here in MetroWest.

I think some communities have allowed the use of traditional bicycles. I believe it depends on what each community decides.
