#yeg had some really good progress but then the government of #alberta took some really integral tools away, namely photo radar and is talking about taking away bike lanes.
Sometimes the municipal vision is there...but get stymied by other gov levels that can't mind their own business.

If they ask why
you are still bothering
to wear a mask,
ask them
to look around,
ask them
to really look around,
and then tell them
when you are standing
on the deck of the Titanic
it's a wise choice
to put on a life jacket.

Oil and gas subsidies in Canada, explained | The Narwhal Oil and gas subsidies in Canada amount to billions each year, including loans, tax breaks and other incentives

People claim oil and gas in Canada isn't subsidized, but that's not true. Governments give away billions each year to hugely profitable companies through direct funds, tax breaks, preferential financing and more (including a pipeline). An explainer. #ableg #cdnpoli thenarwhal.ca/oil-and-gas-...

Supersized American cars shouldn’t be a barrier to Canadians getting some great European options If North American vehicles are considered too gigantic and heavy to safely share the road with reasonably sized European ones, the correct solution isn’t to forgo European-approved cars

Bike lane debate heats up as Dreeshen argues expansion could hurt traffic flow Alberta’s transportation minister wants Calgary to tap the brakes on any new bike lanes, confirming the province is reviewing the ones that already exist.

Having recently spent some time on Alberta's highways, the Transportation Minister might want to spend some focusing on the things he's actually responsible for instead of worrying about what Calgary and Edmonton are doing.

This is exactly why I e-bike on my commute instead of using my analog bike. It gets rid of the excuses if I'm tired after an 8hr day to tackle the 1hr commute with hills. E-bikes reduce the friction or potential blocks to use!

While the judge doesn't think EM was believable, I know many who do because they have been in situations where they have had to pretend to get along. So now because of this, how many more victims won't step forward because they fear they won't be believed? Or because they're not a perfect victim?

A well funded public broadcaster is fundamental for our democracy, our culture, and our national unity.

We should be investing in journalism that serves the public interest, not slashing its funding.

Gigantic SUVs are a public health threat. Why don’t we treat them like one?

The anti-smoking playbook is worth studying and learning from, and is completely applicable to oversized cars.

This is a good article, worth reading.
