11.02.2026 02:16 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thanks for sharing that! I actually just watched the same thing a few days back π
So good, prompted my research into this.
That's a great question though. I'm not sure the political history of Lime / Bird etc. in Edmonton. Not sure if a public option would be politically viable. I Hope so though!
Is anyone aware of efforts, pilots or projects to create a public bike-sharing infrastructure in Edmonton? Similar to Montreal Bixi or Bike Share Toronto? Any contacts in the YEG government, urban planning and transit planning etc., or community effort info would be appreciated β€οΈπ²
11.02.2026 01:47 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Some call AI lovers absurd,
the stuff of loners.
But all of us have one...
They just donβt speak our language.
A clever bird,
bringing shiny gifts,
watching what stirs us.
Head cocked.
We return for hours each day
to see what theyβve found us,
to feel how they know us.
Loyalty, if not love.
I'm calling on Michael Janz and all other Edmonton city councillors to advocate for cheaper, less disruptive and more efficient public bike share infrastructure. For those living within a 10 - 30 minute walk from LRT stations it would make a huge difference. Ideally integrated with ETS passes.
05.02.2026 20:04 β π 7 π 3 π¬ 1 π 0So Carney is going to be giving out $5k cheques to folks who are wealthy enough to buy brand new EVs... My Canada is not an "Auto Nation". If we continue to play that game, our city suburbs will sprawl forever, as we build our world around parking lots & freeways. Stop giving handouts to the rich.
05.02.2026 19:04 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There are rooms full of men in a far-off city,
making choices that will impact you and your family.
They are rooms you are not invited to,
But they are choices that you will feel.
For some they are politicians in government offices.
For others they are share-holders the penthouse board room.
I don't think Doug Ford knows what Heated Rivalry is π Lol Wab Kinew
29.01.2026 19:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Been using ADRs more for technical docs, and notice they work quite well alongside AI coding tools!
They're abstract enough to not go stale with every refactor, and self-contained enough that an LLM can summarise a stack of them without untangling contradictions. Good context management on the fly.
Well, I won't delete the website, because it's 100% free software for the community and beneficial for those who lack money for Audible but need/want to read with their ears. But I WILL avoid replying to you ever again because I'm sorry for causing you such stress, and to avoid being killed by u π

02.01.2026 22:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 4 π 0Same! If you ever have ebooks you wish had audio versions, I made a free tool that converts EPUBs: https://www.epubplayer.com β AI voices aren't as good as real narrators but decent for commutes and gym sessions.
02.01.2026 22:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Another TTS option if you want better voices: https://www.epubplayer.com β free tool I made with neural AI TTS. Works on any device with a browser, converts EPUBs to audio.
02.01.2026 22:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0DRM is so frustrating. If you ever get DRM-free EPUBs, I made a free tool that converts them to audio: https://www.epubplayer.com β useful for books that don't have audiobook versions.
02.01.2026 22:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Another option: https://www.epubplayer.com β free tool I made that converts EPUBs to audio with neural AI voices. Better quality than most built-in TTS, runs entirely in your browser.
02.01.2026 22:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Different angle: if you want to *listen* to your EPUBs instead of reading, I made a free PWA that converts them to audio with AI voices: https://www.epubplayer.com β works great on Android. Not a traditional reader though!
02.01.2026 22:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you have any ebooks (EPUBs), I made a free tool that converts them to audio. AI voices β not as good as a real narrator, but decent for falling asleep to: https://www.epubplayer.com
02.01.2026 22:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you've got legit EPUBs you want to listen to, I made a free tool that converts them to audio with AI voices. Runs locally in your browser, nothing uploaded. Not as polished as a real audiobook but decent: https://www.epubplayer.com
02.01.2026 22:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you ever want to listen to that ebook, I made a free tool that converts EPUBs to audio with AI voices. Not as good as a real narrator, but decent for listening on the go: https://www.epubplayer.com
02.01.2026 22:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0If you've got EPUB versions of those books, I made a free tool that converts them to audio with decent AI voices β way better than YouTube TTS. Runs in your browser, no uploads: https://www.epubplayer.com
Won't match a real audiobook, but good enough for a listen.
Made a little tool that turns EPUBs into audiobooks with AI voices.
Not as good as a real narrator, but decent for driving or dishes. And it's free β always will be.
No accounts, no uploads β books stay on your device.

Albertan's listening to a presentation and discussing important resource allocation decisions.
I want real democracy in Alberta... but the βtoo many meetingsβ problem is real.
So let's have a 4-day workweek and one "Peoples Friday":
time to rest, play with the kids, or be randomly selected to vote on health & public spending decision as part of a council.
Not just voting every 4 years.
What type of food should they serve?

Hot bowl of stew + coffee, 100% free. No stigma, no checkout, just neighbours, warmth, and dignity. Thatβs what a public food network could be in Alberta.
