it's just such a weird thing to say, like some sort of amazingly vague remark, but then expressed in a profoundly ridiculous way

i can't explain it i just think of some stupid polysyllables & laugh at them

well of course when they work & he likes em they stick around, but as a rule i think they're hot off the dome when he's got new ones

i gather most people speak to themselves about things in the immediate vicinity & then come to imagine that the inner speech is somehow their thoughts

so to the extent as i do regularly have an inner monologue, it's the occasional experience of the sentence fragment "as tentative as they are proleptic" popping up in my head, & then i think it's funny & try to imagine how to scaffold it

i kept imagining giving a commencement speech or some kind of remark, & saying,

"my remarks are as tentative as they are proleptic"

& i don't know why but that just seems extremely funny to me

or, well, rather, at times i do, but it hardly seems to be doing the same thing as most folks seem to think theirs is doing

usually i get absurd little fragments that arise & i think they're funny & laugh to myself about them

i can't think of when it would ever be apt to say (other than now) but:

i will say it's helpful to have the extra moment that the text interface affords

i'd kick the man's ass in geoguessr & it wouldn't be close, but his verbal fluency is twice mine or more

not especially. i can summon his voice into my mind, but i think i probably am one of the least inner-monologue-having people around here

other than when i specifically summon it in particular contexts (thinking about interesting sentences in the shower, maybe) i don't think i have one at all

if you said this in MDCCCXXV to a halfway literate somebody they'd say "yes of course you should know the binding of isaac"

if you said this in MMXX to a certain sort of online youtube zoomer they would say the same

& neither of them would have the faintest idea what the other was talking about

that's the wordcellianism at work, there are certainly similarities in the language use deparment

the only phrase i'm conscious of stealing from him is "go back to the well" but i'm sure there are more haha, i've certainly watched enough of the man

Usually if I feel bad at all, it's because I can't (or: can't responsibly) handle the snakes

I noticed there were children around the lectern, & I felt annoyed to see another adult pick up one snake by the middle of its body, & I thought, "you dummy, you're leaving it free to lash out & strike the kids!"

It was an odd one

I was standing with my back to a lectern, looking at something on a wall. It might have been a fish tank? realistically I can't Google this & I don't remember

I thought, "it's weird there are no snakes around"

And then turned around to see two snakes in a cubby under the lectern

Really I was up too late last night, my sleep quality has been getting poor for some mysterious reason, I feel frazzled

I did, true to form, dream about snakes though
