Food for thought... There's a lot of talk about speeding up game development, given how many recent games took 5-7 years to make. But many of those were hampered by the switch from Unreal 4 to 5. And ALL of them lost months to covid. Perhaps one way to make games faster is to not have a pandemic

This happened to me with Castles of burgundy. Never could get into the old version, it was so ugly. However, the special edition was an instant hit and it's now of my favorite games. It was a wake up call, a GREAT game can be hiding behind a very ugly coat of paint!

Apparently CHDK has a fix for this. Had to generate a badpixels file and set RAW format to DNG 1.1, and that seems to have fixed the problem, so now I can enjoy taking delicious grainy CCD photos. It does unfortunately make it so that it takes a long time to save the photos though (like 3-4s).

Got some Fusion World in with my new Red Glorio deck. Ended up getting 1st!

Thought Slime is one of the real ones. Their videos have definitely help me question a lot of the base-level assumptions I've held about how the world works.

And, again, maybe the immediate answer here isn't "train on more disabled users' faces!" but rather perhaps stopping and thinking "hey maybe a sociotechnical paradigm that is literally predicated on and made of unending surveillance and a demand for certain 'right kinds' of bodies is bad actually 🤔"

I'm looking at the JP scene and they just don't do shit like this. Like designers are making Uno and Sugoroku-like games over there, not to mention the metric ton of pitch games and Mafia/Werewolf-style games, and it's clearly helping the hobby gain mainstream acceptance there.

Somehow, I don't think being dismissive of mass market board games and going "you should toss those out and play [list of $50+ games] instead" is winning people over, especially now that board gamers are starting to take the same attitude toward hobby staples like Catan, Pandemic, and Wingspan.
