Ghost of Yotei: 9/10

An improvement by basically every metric on Tsushima, from a less cluttered map, richer side content, and a narrative that kicks off immediately to grab you. It’s basic but it works. Game also made me to out and buy a PS5 Pro, so that’s gotta mean something.

Okay but Mac Jones replacing Purdy is really just a lateral move for your hating.

The PS5 Pro is absolutely unnecessary but also the joy I am getting from Yotei with the Pro performance mode is still not worth it the price actually but it’s cool as fuck so.

Ghost of Yotei is hitting that “brain to brrrrrr” vibes after Silksong and Hades II and is some much needed chill vibes before going back to Silent Hill f. Ironically I put 90 hours into Tsushima and I think it’s a solid 7.5/10 so maybe I’m just a sucker for Sucker Punch.

Look. Bane has always been a boring Batman villain, smart and strong but that isn’t unique. Absolute Bane? A terrifying menace I’ll never forget Jesus Christ.

Is Absolute Batman the Batman I want? No. Is it the coolest shit I’ve read in a long time? Yes. Scott Snyder’s New 52 run is my all time fave Batman run, and the man is cooking again. And I haven’t even met demon time Bane yet.

Hollow Knight Silksong: 8.5/10

Incredible exploration and challenging combat make this incredibly addictive to play, but the act 3 structure dropped this from GOTY to fourth place on my list. It’s a very special game that I think loses itself in its grand expanse by the end a little bit.

This is the best one off color for a Pro since the purple. It’s so fun and even better in person, which now you’re realized.
