This piece symbolizes the end of my time living in California.

I have mixed feelings about leaving, as it was a time of struggle and hardship. But it was also a time of growth, personal development and artistic awakening, and those are more precious than gold.

I appreciate you saying so! Honestly I questioned the somewhat jarring transition between the light/dark portions of the painting.
