In USA kids who attend their local school but live a few miles away (1.5m near me) are typically provided with free transportation (usually those yellow buses). Obviously there is no such thing as a free lunch (someone somewhere always pays, as the economists tell us). Socialized busing in USA!

Fonda announced the revival of the organization, initially founded by her father, Henry Fonda. The organization was founded in the 1940s to defend free speech against fascism.

The part that always shocked me was the inter-community violence among the chimps: the patrols and the vicious attacks on strangers that lead to death. It's an unfortunate parallel to human behavior - they have a dark side just as we do. We have less excuse, because we can deliberate, so I believe only we are capable of true calculated evil.

Not a full explanation for the direction of change with alcohol, but I believe the number of samples was lower in waves 0 and 1...(not sure why) and highest in wave 2 (hence the tight confidence-intervals), The details can always be found in the Supplementary Appendix!

I love the ABCD study, but something doesn't look right in these hair analyses. 1. How can alcohol use rates go down with age? 2. Wave 2 (age 12) looks odd. A steady increase in substance use with age is typical but wave 2 seems off the curve. Can anyone explain these results?
