Start with DHS. Like most things that were done as knee-jerk reactions to 9/11, it was a poor choice and was clearly a way of consolidating power under the executive branch. Even the name sounded nazi-like to me back then.

He very well could be everything they say he is. But if so, this is not the right way to do it. Get a warrant, charge him with something, and prove it in court. That's how we in America treat people. We don't just disappear political opponents for saying things we don't like.

Pretty much the only advantage is that if your intent is to have the robots take the jobs of humans at locations that are designed for humans, having them the size, shape and general functionality of humans is an advantage. But only if your intent is to have them take the jobs of humans.

IMHO, it sounds like the procedures for how to handle the very close patterns carry way too much risk, even though they've worked for half a century probably.

I read a little transcript that seemed to show that the air traffic controllers asked the helicopter if they had visual on the plane, and directed them to go behind it. They didn't.

The question is whether or not there is more that ATC could have done if they had more attention on it.

Probably. When we found one at a mardi gras parade, we tried ot contact the owner several way, then I googled "what to do with a found phone" and generally found that turning it in at the appropriately branded store was the right answer. They have tools that we don't have.
