Hard to tell. I think most schools had students involved.

I'm at a colocated magnet (part of lausd, not charter). Our partner school had a lot of students walk out, but they were allowed to leave through the front doors.

Charter schools have always been a problem in my 20+ years of teaching.

I'm pretty mad at LAUSD too, though. We were required to take attendance in the first 20 minutes last Friday and submit it to the district so that they could identify all students that walked out.

I find mainstream representations of how romantic relationships are supposed to work horrifying. From grand gestures and high pressure public engagements to the whole colored prenatal baby sex reveals, it all feels like its attempting to replace personal connection with ritual.

I went to two different high schools, so I'll take Julia Child and Octavia Butler.

There are some techniques that can help with dyscalculia - I've had students with marked success using large grid paper.

Navigating the demands of academia at any level can be challenging, but that's not always necessary if the end goal is pure learning.

This thread and its responses highlight, to me, the difference between what math is perceived to be in elementary and secondary, and how those who get careers in it end up practicing it.
