However, those who succeed have an easier time navigating society, the political rhetoric in Denmark and the increasing requirements to obtain a residence permit in the host country.

🔵 Immigrants with majority friends have a higher probability of being in employment and to have higher income. Friendships are particularly crucial for immigrants from the MENAPT countries.
Last Thursday, I defended my PhD and it was an amazing experience 💐 I am proud and very grateful! I can’t wait to continue working with the ideas and knowledge that have come out of this PhD.

Besides writing a lot, I got the opportunity to present my work to different audiences, and to meet with talented scholars to discuss my work. I’m very grateful!

Thanks to Prof. Irene Bloemraad, IES and the Berkeley Interdisciplinary Migration Initiative for making it a rewarding and memorable stay.
