Unsolicited Writing Advice: no. 12675:
"Write what you know" does NOT mean "Stop learning." The more you learn, the more you read, the more you experience, the more people you meet with different lives to yours, the more you're going to know, and that knowledge will make you a better writer.

I like to mix them up - vignettes can bring focus to an action or moment in a story; full-page or D/P spread can have huge dramatic impact when deployed well.

I heard somewhere that the production team briefly considered bringing K-9 back in McCoy's era, and that if it had happened, the 'new' K-9 would have had a green tint. That may be complete bobbins, of course.
