To be clear: the First Narrows are inarguably the better route for a Waterfront-to-Squamish railway in the long term, but quite frankly I don’t know how you accumulate the political capital for that in less than a generation or two of effort.

CN can get trackage rights to the BC Rail crossing *IF* they build another Thornton Tunnel with clearance for double-stack over catenary, then dig out the extra meter or so in the first tunnel
