The Censorship "Hit Squad" attacking Video Games.
YouTube video by Charalanahzard The Censorship "Hit Squad" attacking Video Games.

Hereโ€™s my feature on Collective Shout, and their attempts to take down Steam and itch.io. I found a conversation where they spoke about exactly how they did it, and detailed their plans going forward, which soundsโ€ฆ very unrelenting.

For women, the increase of AI use in the workplace may affect their careers: Harvard study Women are using AI significantly less then men and itโ€™s going to have a major impact on their careers, according to extensive research on the topic.

Every. Single. Story. about women not using AI as much as men portray it as bad for their future career prospects (without a shred of evidence) and a result of women being fearful little ladies rather than looking at AI's output and saying "this sucks, it's not going to help me."

My perspective as someone who is seeing your game for the first time, I think larger trees would be worth trying out. The campsite and wall look correct compared to the person, but the smaller trees appear to be person sized. I donโ€™t think every tree needs to be very tall though.

Iโ€™ve stopped using reddit on mobile with their API changes, which has dramatically reduced my reddit use.

old.reddit is the only reason I keep using it. Itโ€™s one of few big sites with a simple and functional UI. And it can be used in contrast with their new UI, which is just much harder to read

I finally got a playable build with portals in Space Strife over on itch. I also put together a video devlog about it on YouTube (also linked to on itch).

I've been playing around with creating portals for a last level mechanic, it's taken a bit to get it looking mostly right, still work to do but I'm reasonably happy with them now.

My PC updated automatically overnight, giving me no opt out option from OneDrive.

I thought I had manually disabled it earlier in the day, but I just booted up The Sims 4 to find that OneDrive reinstated itself, removing all my files. All of my saves were gone.

This happened to me when I first bought Anno 2070, it worked for a day and then decided that I didn't own the game, so I got a refund. I tried again a year later and the same thing happened. It also happened with Heroes of Might & Magic 6. Since then I've avoided Ubisoft. I guess nothing's changed.

As someone who has attempted this and perhaps had to give up on the scope; Iโ€™ve always wanted to be able to walk around your ship whilst itโ€™s going somewhere. The feeling a moving home base to take on an adventure.

โ€” making things for themselves I donโ€™t have a strong opinion one way or the other. Iโ€™m more concerned about whatโ€™s happening in public and peopleโ€™s ability to live are being affected by people who think they can replace humans with gen ai.

26.02.2025 01:33 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Iโ€™m sure people are using it for different purposes. Although if you check out Cara thereโ€™s a lot of artists who specifically dont use gen ai. As for having to buy supplies, thats a barrier to get to making art, it doesnโ€™t say much about what you do with it afterwards. And sure if people are โ€”

26.02.2025 01:33 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

-- from my personal experience aren't people who are looking to make art, or to even augment their art, it's by people who already don't value art and simply see art as a means to an end and gen ai lets them sidestep a human. So overall gen ai feels like art viewed through the lens of a capitalist.

25.02.2025 22:39 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

-- without realising it, but I've seen plenty that standout as being very obvious. In the majority of cases it's not being used with artistic intent but usually as a way to either deceive or make quick cash. Which again is dependent on who is using the tool itself, but the people using the tool --

25.02.2025 22:39 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

-- from other peoples work without their consent. Whilst it is a tool and how a tool is used will differ between people, the primary driving force behind these gen ai seems to be very capitalistic and art as a commodity. And I'm sure I've seen gen ai works and photoshopped images --

25.02.2025 22:39 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Whilst I disagree with the notion that the mechanism is the same between how an artist pieces together previous experiences and how these gen ai work, my main point doesn't rely on that. As prompting is more like asking for a commission, one that is offloaded to a service that is primarily built --

25.02.2025 22:39 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I disagree that itโ€™s indistinguishable. Why do you want faster art though? Using a tool that effectively randomly pieces together other peopleโ€™s art without intent doesnโ€™t make it meaningful art. Art without meaning can be pretty but it is also of low to nil value.

25.02.2025 07:53 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I'll agree that those sorts of filters and kind of photo manipulation can be quite harmful and aren't all that different from generative AI. But I still have much less of an issue with those filters than I do with generative AI relatively speaking.

25.02.2025 07:13 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I think it is important how you measure it, because depending on how you measure it nothing could be 'real'. Weather an image is formed by on photo film, a painting, or electrical impulses going through an optic nerve. I think a lot of people take issue intent when it comes to AI same with photoshop

25.02.2025 06:03 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I'm not sure I follow the logic that digital cameras and AI generated images are in the same category. Would you make the same claim for digital audio and AI generated audio?

Playing around with a new effect for a 'final boss'. I wanted to be more clever and use a single object and use the shader to mirror the mesh. But since there's only one object like this in the game, it's much easier to just clip along the center plane, duplicate and give one side a negative scale.
