Bottom line: Question 1 wasn’t close — and the data shows a strong, statewide shift across counties, districts, and communities. This is the momentum Maine Dems are bringing into 2026.

Statewide pattern:
Every single county saw the Q1 “No” vote outperform Harris’s ’24 margin — most by 10–13 points.
Only four counties voted “Yes,” and even there, “No” still reached 46–48%.

Question 1 by Congressional District:
• CD-1: No +41.9%
• CD-2: No +12.0%
That’s a 21-point shift from ’24, when Trump carried CD-2 by more than 9 points.

A total of 315,008 Mainers voted “NO”on question 1 — one of the highest “No” vote totals in state referendum history.

Maine voters delivered a decisive result on Question 1:
64.2% NO
35.8% YES
An almost 30-point margin!
