Agreed but for keepers every mistake is magnified and highlighted far more than the outfield players. He clearly has a weakness under high crosses and you can fully expect opponents to try and exploit that. It will be down to the coaching staff to try and help him improve.

I disagree, clearly he is not as good as Bass but I donβt think he is as bad as what is being made out. He obviously has a weakness when it comes to catching high balls into the box but he is a half decent shot stopper. I also think he will improve with more game time as he gets up to speed with L2

I am not saying he is a particularly good keeper but equally I donβt think, when all of his attributes are considered he is as bad as some are making out, but having said that I didnβt think Collin was as bad as some made out.

I think that is sort of the point, if he hadnβt gone for the cross at all it could equally have ended differently. Yes he didnβt catch the ball but it could be argued he did enough to disrupt the passage of play.

Genuine question is it better to come for it and risk dropping it or stay rooted to the line. Obviously if he lacks confidence in catching the ball go for the punching option. I would rather he tried than staying on his line.

He was clipped and from a wanting to win the game in the right way you want him to try and facilitate a counterattack but professional game management tactics would suggest he should have gone down. stop the game and take the time over the restart

The decision that annoyed me the most was when we won the ball on the edge of our box Tsaroulla was about to break and was caught, if he goes down we get the free kick but he tries to maintain his footing but as a result of the challenge he loses the ball immediately putting Fleetwood on the attack.

When we have a genuinely fully fit squad I think we will be tough to beat with plenty of proper strength off the bench. Having Robbo, Traore, Jones, Platt, Macari, Cotter, Bennetts and Jarvis challenging to get in the starting 11
06.09.2025 19:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
I must admit I prefer Alijofree to Macari. Macari has a calamity in him most games Alijofree will get better with more games and is far better on the ball.

Very helpful thread for someone with a very late in life diagnosis. I recognised so many elements of this as part of my personality.

Notts did say his strengths were running in behind from out wide. If we bang the ball up high down the middle he isnβt going to be very effective.

He certainly moved the Fleetwood defence back and actually it was his introduction that stemmed the flow of the ball coming straight back as Fleetwood couldnβt risk playing such a high line.

Just a thought perhaps it was more to do with his reaction to the gaffers feedback rather than the gaff itself. I would have thought MP would rather coach errors out of players who want to learn.

As itβs a home game I would probably opt to start Grant with Iorpenda starting if it was away.

Interesting that the two WBs recruited to replace the existing WBs donβt make the starting 11 and one not even making the bench in your prediction squadβ¦not that I disagree

It doesnβt look good for him that we can name a maximum of 22 and we didnβt reach the maximum and he still isnβt listed.

It makes sense from a club perspective they donβt want him going to a rival in the same division but happy to release him to go to the NL. He gets the benefit of a negotiated release with I assume a chunk or all of his remaining contract

Nothing on the official website - is this a Twitter announcement? Or just speculation based on him not being in tonightβs squad for the meaningless game?

Only downside is when the whole team is a bit makeshift itβs quite difficult to impress if the team overall is not functioning. If Traore barely gets a pass worthy of the name is it totally his fault if he is ineffective π€·π»ββοΈ

Also allows us to field stronger B teams rather than relying on too many youngsters who potentially get demoralised getting heavily beatenβ¦

Is the counter view on this we struggled to field a fully fit team last season due to not having a squad big enough. A greater acceptance of injuries a willingness not to rush players back meaning more bodies needed even if they are not regulars in the match day squad.

I would swap Norburn for Robbo and Aljofree for Ness purely based on fitness with a view to bringing them on midway through second half to build up their minutes
