I also think the effect might look better with the placement tweaked. For example, if the arc started from the end of the character’s rod rather than in front of them.

Are there other options that you’ve explored? E.g dotted or dashed lines?

I think both options you’ve got here work, but they’re visually heavy and maybe even distracting, too

Been really enjoying putting the finishing touches on a really small Metroidvania that I made and submitted to two jams last week.

Tons of bugs patched, new enemies added, player controller tweaks, and soon I’ll be breathing even more life into it with more animations.

Did a few more tweaks to this one; I increased the saturation of the lava by switching to a bright yellow for the highlight and used that color on some of the sprites to better tie ‘em all together.

The metroidvanias are all so good!
