The effort to uphold decorum by the committee members was maddening. I did appreciate Senator Durbin’s comment to Bondi that one day she will have to answer for actions.

I appreciate your observations of the proceedings. I jumped in and out of watching and found it really difficult to stomach the lack of civility on Pam Bondi’s part. As long as there’s no mechanism to force participation in the proceedings, they are a huge waste of time.

Not ONE person went to her aid once the interaction became violent. We have to do better as a society.

A great follow-up to this data would be scenarios of what it would look like on the ground as it’s happening. Some people may feel they’re safe geographically but the migration north will definitely impact them.

They want us to feel afraid. Fear makes us censor ourselves, stay quiet, keep our heads down. I get it; it's scary. But do not do the work of the oppressor for them. The more we speak out, the more we work in community, the less power they have. Don't let the right use fear as a wedge & cudgel.

There’s never enough funding for schools. Quite often when there’s an opportunity to increase the District contribution to health benefits, employees prefer to add it to salaries—for very sensible reasons. Health benefit cost increases always outpace school district funding.

The older voting members of our nation see a +$20 hourly wage and think it’s great! They don’t do even a tiny bit of analysis to see what the buying power is at that rate and that’s really where we need to educate people.
