Opinion | A Coup at Carnegie Mellon?
The university is replacing the humanities with more computers.

As a PhD student in computer science, the kind of knowledge production that is being "innovated" away here is exactly what departments like mine could use a lot more of.
This is a real loss for CMU.

No one wants to watch their PhD program be eliminated. Itβs nearly the same story when itβs βinnovatedβ away.

Opinion | A Coup at Carnegie Mellon?
The university is replacing the humanities with more computers.
Carnegie Mellonβs literature PhD is being liquidated in favor of βcomputation,β casualized labor, and AI.
That has profound ramifications for, students, faculty, and program alums like myself.
I wrote it about it (w/ Catherine Evans, a current PhD student).

i think the gbbo judges really need to stop being so biased towards dylan like its actually upsetting how much they overlook his missing pastries and low quality nougatine structures
