Still a little scarred 👀

I was raised Evangelical and even before 2016, I wasn't comfortable with a lot of what was being preached. Now it's 10x worse. I do consider myself Christian still, but I don't think I could step back into the church I grew up in. It's absolutely a cult with cult mentality and that makes me so sad.

It was like this in Korea as well. Huge coffee culture (love it or hate it) but I'm used to coffee shops opening at early as 6 or 630- makes it easy for commuters to grab and go. Really Korea, 10am??

Understand completely. 42 and feel like I'm 10 years behind my peers despite having a Master's and a higher paying salary than many in my field. The wheels keep spinning 😵‍💫

I worked with a lovely Japanese woman who married a US serviceman. She was SO excited that she could keep her maiden name and use it as a middle name. I hadn't realized that not keeping your last name was actually a law 😳

Yeah, I'm in my 8th year (6 years with a 2 year internship). I love my job, love the people I work with. Everyone is just so drained. No one knows what's going to happen day to day. Crazily, I think that's the point.

In 1990 a kid in my class got the measles. Everyone in (my very small) school was required to go out and get revaccinated. It was a pain, no one really wanted to do it, but we did it. Sadly I don't know if that would happen again today.

Living and working in the middle of all has been... an experience.
