The amount of gender essentialism in this discourse is blowing my mind. Different people like different bodies types. Some people like lean muscle, others don't. There's no one answer to "what women/men want."

Saying "this isn't the female gaze, it's the male gaze" is really just swapping one form of gender essentialism for another. This is not the own you think it is.

imo there's a lot of over-thinking on this topic. This is the "gaze" of anyone who likes muscles. Doesn't need to be gendered one way or the other.
