Our resident Roseate Tern was joined by a second ringed Rosy, but this time I managed to read the ring code, 11 med Gulls, 1sts Little Gull still, Artic Tern and 5 Sandwich Terns, 58 newly arrived back Icelandic Black-tailed Godwits @ Seaforth NR

A nice drk Black Ruff arrived this morning and was showing well on the scrape @ Seaforth NR, also 1sts Little Gull, only the 2nd this year, the Roseate Tern was still present and is paired with a Common, the 2 2nds and ads Med Gulls were joined by the pr from Saturday #Lancsbirding

The Roseate Tern continues it's stay at Seaforth NR and showing well, we can only hope it brings a mate back and join the Common Terns on the island, ringed on Couquet Island in 2021 as a chick so it's 4yrs old and ready to breed. #Lancsbirding #UKBirding #Terns

Yesterday's Roseate Tern was present on and off all day, also the first Little Tern of the year, another Arctic Tern and an anxious few minutes when a kestrel snatched something from the scrape, fearing it was one of the Avocet chicks, but relief when all 3 appeared moments later #Lancsbirding

A cracking Roseate Tern flew in calling early morning to Seaforth NR and stayed for most of the day, and showed really well, also Arctic Tern, ads Hobby flew SE, 4 Med Gulls, 2 Sandwich Tern, 280 Common Terns, the 3 juv Avocets still going strong. #Terns #UKBirding

We've been bemoaning the lack of birds so far this spring, so it was a nice surprise to find a Temminck's Stint which appeared on the edge of the scrape near hide A, and eventually showed really well at Seaforth NR #Waders

Great to connect with the ads Black Tern at Lunt Meadows NR, my first one here, although there have been a few before, always distant on the main pool, they're not as common as they used to be, Com Sand, LRP and 20 Swifts also #UKBirding

More like Winter than Spring, but brightened up by the pair of Mediterranean Gulls constantly displaying and calling the last few days, a few Chiffchaffs braving the cold wind, a pr of LRP still about and the regular Spotshank, 22 Avocet and a rare flock of 23 Golden Plovers at Seaforth NR

Multiple calls ie, a flock, they fade as they go over followed by more birds calling, I get them quite low as they set off from the sea
