I came across this stat and it tells me that 63% of Americans are unable to think critically about complex issues but also explains a lot about how the country now finds itself here.

Two Ukrainian oppositional leaders: Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko (both hate Zelensky and hate each other) have publicly supported Zelensky, said his term prolongation is legit until the end of the war, and said elections are impossible now. Listen to Ukrainian opposition.

@brenttoderian.bsky.social I'm from south of the border so I know we have our own problems but I find Poilievre so intensely off-putting and strange. Politics aside, he seems like one of the most inauthentic people you'll ever encounter. Now that I think about it, he reminds me a lot of Ted Cruz.

Statistics describing literacy levels of adults in the USA

Statistics describing literacy levels of adults in the USA

I found this Stat on the national literacy institute website and I'm floored. 63% of adult Americans have a 6th grade (or worse) literacy score. For the richest country in the world, this is simply abysmal but also explains a lot.

Short of toppling the government, members of the governing party caucus have the ability to force a leader to resign. This is not uncommon in Canada. As sensational as it may be, it's a sign of a healthy democracy.

But caucus members don't act on their own. The public plays a crucial role.

Trump’s $50 Billion Tax Giveaway to the 100 Largest Corporations Trump’s plan to slash the corporate tax rate would give the largest corporations a tax cut exceeding federal K-12 education spending.

Amazon, Meta, and Google donated millions to Trump's inauguration. Why?

Collectively they'll gain an annual tax cut worth $7.4 billion if Trump lowers the corporate tax rate.

They're also facing major antitrust lawsuits for abusing their market power.

Always follow the money.

Trade deficit. The USA buys more from Canada because they have 10x the population.
The deficit is in oil. They buy millions of barrels our oil.
Buying what you need from us is not β€˜subsidizing’ us.
He’s such a moron.

The media didn't care to do its job here; it's part of the ongoing fox newsification of Canadian media. But that aside, the bigger reason that PP is able to get away with blaming inflation on crime and the carbon tax is that the libs didn't care to hold corporations to account for greedflation.

Trump rails against drugs, migrants flowing into U.S.

What about what's pouring into Canada?

Former right wing Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper says most guns and drugs crossing the border flow north, not south.

Facts matter.

IMPORTANT: If you live in the United States or Canada, you’ve probably heard Trumpβ€˜s constant claim that the United States is β€œsubsidizing” Canada. It’s wrong of course, but here’s the best explanation I’ve seen about how & why it’s wrong. PLEASE WATCH & SHARE IT A LOT. Kudos to Andrew Chang & CBC.

This should be used as a tool to perhaps force Trump to rethink tariffs. He'd only be hurting the American public. If Canada simultaneously curtails production, it would also drive the price of WCS oil up. Good for Canada, not to much for America.

Elon Musk is an openly hostile foreign agent actively attacking democracy around the world using his massive wealth, his personal communication platform, the help of hostile autocratic foreign governments, and now his direct influence over the new extremist United States Govt he helped put in power.
