Yes! I remember the time we were told it was banned. The PE teacher told us some story about a kid at another who jumped off the high equipment trying to get away and had to go to hospital. Truly a sad day!

Ours was removed a few years ago, but I still used it 😥 I think because I had great memories of it from my own education in the 80s. Back then, we used to play a game called pirates (a chasing game on the equipment) but it was banned for being too dangerous.

I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

I hoped that the outrage about this scandal across the political spectrum demonstrated we were finally moving away from such thinking. But Jenrick's remarks show that we are, in 2025, in an even worse place. The comments are a symptom of a new cult of ethno-nationalism, imported from the USA and supercharged by bad actors on social media. Suddenly, a great many people - including, bizarrely, Suella Braverman - are keen on the racist idea that you simply can't be English and non-white.

We all hoped the Windrush scandal would be shame enough. But no. The Tory party plumbs new depths with its vile rhetoric. Nothing good comes from their prejudice. But our communities prove them wrong every day.

My wife asked her what she knew about autism, and she replied, "They're just a bit visual." She told my son that his thinking was faulty and used cbt strategies./1

Yes, my kid was diagnosed at 11 in the midst of a serious MH crisis. ADHD diagnosed at 17. Article describes his profile well. Finding the right educational pathway/route to employment is a struggle.

In a thread about Pete Hegseth's fun socks, I write: "If you're wearing tailored clothing (suits, sport coats, tailored trousers), the safe, conservative option is to wear over-the-calf socks in a color that matches your pants. So grey socks with grey pants, tan socks with tan pants. Additionally, solid navy will always work with anything except black suits or tuxedos, which call for black socks." Then someone on Twitter replies: "I really hope you respond to this: I cannot see any problem with men displaying individual taste and style through their socks in the same manner as they would through their tie and/or a pocket square. Please explain why this is wrong."

Tbh, I'd much rather hear debate between him and other psychiatrists than practically anyone in education. Tbf, he has spoken with Damian Milton. It may be that we talk about neurodiversity differently in the future, but I don't see his intervention as helpful.
