Burchett represents Tennessee. Over the last few years, Nashville, Memphis, and Chattanooga have all had higher crime rates than D.C.

Knoxville, where Burchett was mayor, is lower, but still among the most violent 10 percent of cities in the country.

Donald Trump threatens to clear encampments in D.C. With D.C.’s MPD now under federal control and the National Guard coming to D.C., the fate of people in encampments remains up in the air.

the analysis in here from people living in encampments is more incisive and direct than a lot of the coverage from national media streetsensemedia.org/article/home...

Good morning,
If you are on this distribution list, you have previously been approved to use the POST method for the Regulations.gov API. This is used by third parties to aggregate and electronically submit comments on behalf of a group or constituency.
As of Friday, the POST method will no longer be allowed for all users with the exception of approved use cases by federal agencies. Any attempted submissions will result in a 403 error response.
We apologize for not being able to provide advanced notice. I wanted to reach out to the impacted API key holders as early as possible. We are in the process of updating the references to our POST API on Regulations.gov and
https://open.gsa.gov/api/regulationsgov/.
Please note that your groups and constituencies can still submit comments through our web user interface on Regulations.gov.

This will make it harder for groups like the @ACLU.org to organize public comment campaigns. Cutting off this access limits organizing power and is another step in a wave of anti-democratic, techno-fascist measures.

A LOT of Americans don't understand that "public funding" streams back into enriching their communities. They scream about their tax dollars being used for handouts without realizing that's what's been keeping every small business in their whole town afloat.

The DC Archives matter! πŸ“£ The DC History Center is deeply concerned that funding for the District of Columbia Archives building at UDC has been eliminated in the Mayor’s FY26 proposed budget. This is an alarming development with far-reaching consequences.

Mayor Bowser’s proposed 2026 budget completely eliminates the new DC State Archives building at UDC. This last minute, irresponsible decision, which was made in secret without any input from experts or the community, erases a decade of grueling work.
