Sadly, it split during a storm. We had the rest of the tree from just above the hole down for about another year, but then they chopped down the whole thing :(

This tree used to be directly in front of my apartment window. One time a HUGE mushroom sprang up on it overnight. I spent so much time watching the squirrel who had babies in the hole chase other squirrels away.

ICE has only existed since 2003. A Bush-era creation, it is a militarized federal secret police that has been imbued with the Supreme Court with the unconstitutional power to ignore the fourth amendment.

Abolishing it and salting the earth where it grew is the moderate stance.

In the early 00's, Scarleteen was my resource for factual sex ed. I grew up in Georgia and the only sex ed we got in (public!) school was abstinence-only and full of misinformation. I guess I shouldn't be *surprised* but it is making my head spin that the feds have shot two people, with live rounds, killing one of them, in Chicagoland in recent weeks, and in both cases they were very clearly found to be lying about what happened, and essentially nothing is happening about it.

I have A Lot of opinions about it, none good.

here's my take: I think humans are really fucking good. inherently. I think we are amazingly kind and giving. and everything about the world we live in is an attempt to stop us from being that. I think our societies step in to stop us from being good. I think our culture punishes us. but we ARE good
