Da gusto ver que se tiene en consideración el trabajo duro, venga desde Madrid o, como fue el caso de mi pasada etapa, desde Ohio.

Una gala para celebrar por todo lo alto la investigación y divulgación del cine español.

📜 It is moving to be able to research phenomena that are close to home. Today, I share my latest publication, in #InteractionalLinguistics, entitled "Storytelling, lists, and the role of Catalan final particle 'i au'".

This investigation precedes my dissertation but is intrinsically linked to it.

Page from a children’s book. There is an illustration of a black cat peeling around a piece of wood. Text reads “Mister black, the cat, peered around the corner. On the porch a stranger was eating the food put there for mister black by his family.” but the spellings are sometimes phonetic and use strange characters other than those of the standard Latin alphabet.

An unusual item has come into my collection, Mister Black’s Secret by Catherine Barr. At first it seems like an early example of ‘I can has cheezburger” speech but it was actually written in a shortlived teaching alphabet called ITA.

The word 'paella' comes from a Catalan word for "pan".

In fact, it's most probably even related to the English word 'pan'.

Other English members of this word family are 'patina', 'paten', and 'pail'.

Click my new infographic to learn how exactly they're related:
