I've been seeing a lot of these yeah. lots of ex. shading "tutorials" where they basically just show something shaded poorly vs well & it's up to the audience to figure out what the actual difference & underlying concept is

I need to make a cute or pretty thing one of these days. I feel like 90% of my practice sculpts are of weird scary men or creatures but I don't actually find sculpting weird scary men that fun. maybe it's just familiar

experiment with a looser+more expressive sculpting style than usual (though this ended up taking just as if not longer than usual with how much cleanup it took to make presentable so who knows). + some workflow experiments for eyelashes

serious props to the trailer team on the launch trailer - they've always done a great job but the pacing & continuity between shots & sound & everything is just fantastic. big thumbs up 👍👍

also if any of the lighting looks weird it's because all of this is on the base color channel & lit with substance painter generators so a lot of stuff is separate. there's probably a better way to do this but I thought it'd be cool

still been working on this. it *feels* like it's close to done but really I know there's a lot of random loose ends to tie up here so probably another 1-2 days at least. very glad the end is in sight regardless

Update it turns out decimation can kinda mess with AO if the thickness isn't great to begin with so. gotta go fix that. but we're getting there

I'm more annoyed than anything that I finally got myself to commit to a big project for once & when it's nearing completion the one part that breaks was the most time consuming. it just hurts man

was trying to figure out some effects & then zbrush crashed & decided to corrupt the file literally the moment after I deleted my quicksave history. awesome

what's weirder: the main file is just... gone? just not there anymore? managed to recover this much but I don't wanna redo the folds AGAIN man
