if you can spare a thought for my sister who i love more than anything, i'd appreciate it.

in a string of years that have felt like a steady decline since 2018, this year has been the hardest. we find joy in small pieces and snatches, but i am tired and overwhelmed and it makes me unreliable even though i try very hard not to be. again, i apologise.

my sister starts chemo tomorrow. i've been trying to handle this quietly & privately but it's affecting me enormously. After a year of surgery + complications + other family member's deaths, i'm stressed out, scared, and exhausted. i wanted to post this to explain my recent flakiness. i apologize.

My sister and i went beachcombing yesterday and were absolutely obsessed with the tidepools we found where the algae had coated the bottom in little oxygen bubbles.

i found a volunteer sunflower in a resting garden bed at the start of the season, so i transplanted it into its own pot and today it bloomed!! 🌻
