I like to write about terrible men, horrible things, and unlikeable women. Somehow my book is a bestseller. Repped by Kent D. Wolf at Neon Literary.

thank you for all the support; the statement from our union is now live here with some more reporting.

now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of todayโ€™s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.

Vogue's absorption of and closure of Teen Vogue feels like -- is -- a direct attack on a new generation of queer journalists who were committed to excellence and the power of journalism to illuminate the stories of people at the margins.

And it impacts all of us, no matter our age.

What a gut punch. Teen Vogue has been a gorgeous shining light in these dark, hideous times.

Oh, wow. I am so sorry โ€” I'm sorry you lost your job, I'm sorry that Teen Vogue is eradicating its excellent politics staff, and I'm sorry that this is happening when we desperately need all of you.

Yeah, as I peeled off cast members, credits, relationships, and wardrobe choices, I realized the endeavor was at best fruitless and at worst

Seventh Heaven was outrightly christian. Party of Five was vaguely so, like The Waltons.

"Everyone wore burgundy lipstick in the late 90s," I told the Tween.

"Why?" They said.

Indeed.

I told the Tween, "That's Sidney, played by Neve Campbell, who was in a vaguely Christian drama about a family of five, called Party of Five, and that's Gale Weathers, played by Courtney Cox, who was in a comedy about six friends called Friends."

Somehow it did not help.

We started watching Scream 2 with the Swedish Tween and had to abandon it because the Tween could not tell the difference between the two women with "the brown bob."

Technically, Sweden has a royal family. My husband chatted with the king on the grounds of Drottningholms slott, the queen's palace, when Bob the Dog barked at the king's dogs and the dogs reciprocated. But no one really cares about Sweden's royalty. There's no cult.

When I got invited to speak at Eton, I got a tour of the buildings, including the chapel. It was weeks after Elizabeth II had died, and my guides were very proud to point out her seat in the pew, a wildly grandmotherly antimassacared affair with heaps of crocheted woolen cushions. Weird as fuck.

Okay, but a zombie Gatsby party works. Or there's this political protest group that's been around since Bush, Billionaires for ________, wherein members dress like stereotypical rich people and smoke ironic cigars at protests. That would work.
