Great job Carole!
17.04.2025 16:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Council of the Town of Parry Sound unanimously resolved to support the national call for stronger federal support for inclusive research that reflects the diversity of Canadian communities. Thank you to the Mayor and Council for discussing and supporting Canadian research!

If you are a young scientist who has never attended an EMGS meeting, you have missed a chance to discover an amazing, welcoming community of scientists who makes a point to help build careers. I owe mine to the EMGS.

First study to report on the use of Duplex Sequencing to detect chemically induced mutations in mouse male germ cells
Another exciting project from the wonderful collaboration with @caroleyauk.bsky.social
Just found out that Larry Thompson passed away. He was one of the stars of the Biology program at Lawrence Livermore National Lab. His work with Chinese hamster cells led to the discovery of several DNA repair genes critical for genomic stability.

The journal right now is getting about 120-140 manuscripts a year and the editorial board is quite helpful. I would say an hr a day.

Hi, Research Scientist at Health Canada. Looking to connect with other scientists
12.01.2025 15:04 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I had the honour to serve as Editor-in-Chief of Environmental and Molecular Mutagenesis in 2012-2016 and it is an experience that I have enjoyed and never regretted.
I encourage all scientists with an interest in genomics and mutagenesis to really put your hat on the table and apply for it.

After leaving the bird, I gave Threads a chance to be my source of news about science, culture and politics.
I had hopes, but it is now just Facebook with strangers.
2025 is the year I am giving Bluesky a chance.
