I love this stupid sport. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong about this, but I thought the profile captures Ed's work and attitude and why he can be polarizing pretty well. Maybe this is a piece that each person reads just a little bit differently.

But his primary expertise is in PR and he gets details wrong! He has clients that may seem at odds with his position on genAI. He doesn't seem to mind that it gets brought up. And yes, the profile leans heavily on Casey Newton, but it makes him sound completely unhinged.

Can I push back on this a little bit? I think this piece was pretty good. I like Ed because he HAS given me "... in a time of amoral boosterism and amid a free-floating revulsion for the tech industry... a moral language for hating generative AI." I'll always be grateful to him for that.
