As a postdoc I don't take my work home often enough - there might be 15 whole minutes where I'm not thinking about science. So I decided to print an ultracentrifuge rotor for my tree so even when I'm in the holiday spirit I know I will always belong to the lab.

I've had good experiences with the mosquito and ORYX systems, though the former was really high maintenance :/ the nerve of that company!

I definitely prime the resin! Have to wait for it to 100% cure too or the paint won't stick.

Yeah the stuff isn't easy for sure. For prints I'm going to sand a bunch anyway like the stands I print with a 1mm nozzle. Otherwise I have to switch to my direct drive toolhead since it has a better extruder.

I'm so glad you like them! The only FDM parts are the wood-effect filament used in the stands. Comes from ooznest, I highly recommend though it likes to clog! The rest is painted resin 😁

I genuinely had never heard the term used in that way (or at all πŸ˜‚). Seems to me we can do a little better, and certainly should if we want this to feel like a safe space for women.
