working on a lit review.
Word underlines Escitalopram in red. Sure. It’s a made-up word (yes, all words are made up, bear with me) - but right-clicking it, one of the suggested replacements is Citalopram.
That is ALSO a made-up word. I dread carelessness switching people’s meds on them.

We are currently in Year 5 of the existing funding cycle. Under typical circumstances, the new RFA would have been released in June; however, it is now anticipated to be issued after the current cycle concludes on April 30, 2026. A "gap year" or a β€œYear 6” is expected with no additional funding, with the next funding cycle set to begin on May 1, 2027.
During that interim year (May 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027), many, if not all, Regional Medical Libraries and Offices will be closed. As a result, NNLM is not expected to offer funding opportunities, professional development, or related services during this time.

Potentially catastrophic behind-the-scenes news about the Network of the National Library of Medicine (www.nnlm.gov) shared with me today.

While some NNLM host institutions were able to float the offices while funding was paused or delayed in 2025... it is unlikely that happens again.

How are folks handling #copyright when it comes to using things like chatGPT/Claude/CoPilot for #evidencesynthesis tasks. E.g. using CoPilot to do QA/bias assessments, or Claude for data extraction. Do you use only open article pdfs? Has anyone seen any work on this? #systematicreviews #medlibs

Many systems buy something specific, like Lippincott or Clinical Skills for the offered features. Are they asking you to help evaluate them? Or are you talking something completely different?

Medical schools move from worrying about AI to teaching it Faculty used to fret over how artificial intelligence might affect education. Now they’re training medical students how to use it for patient care and research.

This article from the American Association of Medical Colleges discusses the use of AI in teaching, including ethical concerns. #medlibs www.aamc.org/news/medical...
