My big takeaway from meandering throughout my old stomping grounds in Japan is a reminder that all of the things that I loved as a kid are still really fucking cool.

Watching V-Varen Nagasaki defeat Oita Trinita 1-0 was one of the better match day experiences I’ve had in a while.

Spent an unusually large amount of time discussing our personal favorite types of tea with my coworkers today. Not even close to the first time we’ve had this conversation, either. My answer, by the way, is Darjeeling. And now you know.

I was thrilled to see the Portland Timbers beat the Colorado Rapids 3-0 last night, but to pair that with V-Varen Nagasaki thrashing Blaublitz Akita 5-1 (with a Matheus Jesus hat trick no less)…that’s just a good weekend of soccer for me.

I have no business to be feeling optimistic about the future, but I something in me wants to hope. Could just be gas, though.
