This is wrong. Lawful visitors to our country - in this case a Purdue University student whose mother is an Episcopal priest in New York - should not be detained. Congress should stop this from happening.

I planted trees in Iowa to remember Melissa, Mark and Gilbert.

I transplanted this one to our prairie from under our solar panels.

The bean harvest at Christ Episcopal Church in Cedar Rapids for food pantries is good. So is saving money with solar panels.

Our July utility bill was $143 (reflecting basic charges for an institution like ours) compared to $1,039 in July 2022.

In less than a year, we have saved over $6,000.

This may be coming our way in Eastern Iowa.

After the derecho on August 10, 2020, I hope every Iowan takes precautions in the face of storms like this.

Just two years ago I introduced my friend and law school classmate, Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives, Melissa Hortman, at the Iowa Democratic Wing Ding. She gave a great keynote speech.

I plan to attend again this year in memory of her.
