A group of Minnesota lawmakers is proposing a statewide ban on cellphones in public schools throughout the day for K-8 students and during class time for high schoolers.

Hell yeah. Hold the line. This is what we need people to do.

Slow things down, don’t comply in advance so the courts have time to stop them. It’s starting to work.

Whether within driving distance or not, please share and spread the word. This will be held as close to the Louisiana SuperDome as folks can get given security concerns. Make. Dissent. Visible. Everywhere.

I’m not enjoying every other post saying “we’re doomed!” with no context.

I wish we put energy into spreading information. Victories, even when they’re small. Panic gives us nothing but disregulation.

There are real emergencies (ex: deportations and trans attacks). Focus on facts we can act on.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Adding and subtracting rational numbers in 7th grade is the pinnacle of all the individual skills we have been build up. It’s tough!

Given that I was not 100%. I kept the same routines and lesson I had planned before I felt ill. I was so excited to see how students were hungry for learning. It turns out kids do like structure.

4/ I recently fall ill and have miss 5 days of work. I’ve heard students wanting to seat out of their assigned seat and some aren’t doing the work I assigned while with the sub. I am coming back tomorrow and I feel like I will have to go back to square 1. 😩 what do you think I should do tomorrow?

3/every so often some students try to push boundaries, but they are starting to read the culture of the classroom and I have been diligently not letting them change the tone of class. It hasn’t been easy but I’ve been consistent.

2/ students are up to speed, completing their do now routine, checking and correcting homework, how to take notes in math, know the transitions from guided to independent practice. It isn’t perfect everyday.
