UCL Press celebrates 10 years of award-winning open access publishing
This June, UCL Press marks a decade of open access publishing and over 19.5 million global downloads.
Congratulations to @uclpress.bsky.social on ten years of open access book publishing. I still think one of the biggest successes of the UK approach to OA has been the resurgence of the subsidised university press landscape.

I suspect we lose far more access to content every year through publishersβ restrictive licensing of ebooks than we do from weeding print books.

Enjoyed @judithfathallah.bsky.social's point that the citation advantage and openess of publishing #OpenAccess is more personally beneficial for researchers, particularly as publishing with "prestige" legacy publishers doesn't result in permanent contracts these days anyway!
