This time is rough for people who have been sounding the alarm about the issues they've worked on for 5, 10, 20 years, etc. It can create resentment to see how party politics kept many from caring as bipartisan collaboration engineered a perfect storm of fascistic terror.

A hard thing about this time that doesn't get talked about enough is seeing many people act as if everything is unprecedented when it's not. These are issues that movements have worked on for so long. It can be frustrating, even as welcomed sincere outrage builds. Find support amongst your people.

folk who are coddled will not learn. that is the sturdiness.
folk who are traumatized and rebuffed will not be rehabilitated. that is the give.

there must always be a net to catch those falling into what could be a bottomless reactionary pit. it must have the appropriate amount of give and sturdiness to save untold numbers people, so it must always be in production and maintenance.

experiencing the pain of reckoning after having been warned is an awful way to learn hard lessons and truths. it's not the only way. it's not the most effective way. but it will be the way many people find themselves open to the knowledge necessary to survive our times. or worse

there will always be people having their first exposure to longstanding ideas.

I’m balancing being aware of the goings on in the world without letting it affect my mental health and emotions. The next regime is going to be trying for anyone that truly cares about other human beings (all of them), the environment, the future etc.
