My wife had a choice between two jobs earlier this summer. Burnside or a gig on Joe Howe. Burnside paid more but ultimately chose the ten minute bike commute to the job on Howe over driving every day. Definitely the right choice! No idea how folks manage every day.

Click on "Sync Settings" in that same view and make sure to Check for Updates (not necessary but didn't brick my iPod) and go to the "Music" tab to setup syncing

You'll need a 30-pin to USB cable (www.amazon.ca/dp/B09XMNN4V...) to connect to your machine (assuming you have something running MacOS)
Then load up Apple Music and you'll see the iPod "docked" (ignore the music, archive.org test downloads ๐)

Oh boy! I did not notice these. To add to the pile, I did notice the outdoor showers just .. don't function well, or at all. So there's that too.
Such an excellent facility I hope they spend some funds on repair for next season.

The cones are there because the jets are broken, and have been broken for most (all?) of this swimming year. Just detouring folks from entering the space.

I feel the desire for a manicured grass lawn is going away, at least in my neighbourhood. Majority of maintained lawns lean towards pollinator gardens, and I think most people prefer these! The lawns without anything but grass are mostly unmaintained (no time/resources to replace w/ garden)

Waterloo Airport has got to have the most enjoyable space for airplane viewing. And you get to walk outdoors to board!

I've not caught up with all your posts on this so may have missed, but have you been able to extrapolate a rough measurement of say, how much tax revenue a 10 storey building generates? Would be curious to see if one could project revenue w/ housing starts & construction in account.

Spent a week and a bit on Manitoulin Island, celebrating my dadโs 65th and official entry into retirement. My kids left what I feel are perfectly succinct reviews in the guest book.
Honestly itโs a lovely place! Beautiful lakes, abundant farms, sandy white beaches. Glad to have made it here.

The amount of space re-allocated to non-motorized vehicles is impressive, and to the haters: No car lanes have been removed :-)

A walking route map that goes from near the Rotary down to Point Pleasant park and then more or less along young and South park to the public gardens
A shortcut. I wonder if you know where it is? A stone building and a wooden wall looking through to a shady path
The entire Northwest arm water frontage of Marlborough Woods park, maybe 75 ft wide?
An enormous elm tree, of the spreading kind, as distinct from the tall, vase-form kind. A passing cyclist is closer to the photographer and so the scale of the tree may be understated a bit
A city walk today, through big-tree neighborhoods, "hidden" paths, and shortcuts
Getting off the beaten track in Point Pleasant was fun.
Marlborough Woods park was TINY. The Oaks Gazebo was idyllic.

Yup! But itโs got a growing urban core, is away from the GTA bubble of influence, and the land scape up there just hits differently. :-)

It's tough out there. Not that I want to see you leave Halifax, but Sudbury is a pretty cool town in a more northern (but not too north) part of Ontario. It's beautiful up there, surrounded by some of the best natural beauty Ontario has to offer.

Yeah! It's a prime space to thrive. It just needs a bit of glow up and the retail needs to be filled in. The forces at hand seem like they will provide this.

Vehicles parked in a pedestrian mall
Patio tables and hostas
The adjacent Granville pedestrian mall really needs to get rid of this parking. Why does it exist? Thereโs parking garages everywhere. Give this space to the patio tables and garden. Much more pleasant.

A public space with benches of various forms, young trees, and a pedestrian bridge in the background.
More seating and an area under continued construction
A drinking fountain! Rare in Halifax
Decided to take a sit down in the sun at the new (almost complete?) Granville Park. Nice space! Can see this lighting up with life during events and as the surrounding area builds up.
Also, drinking fountain (for humans and dogs)!
(For context, this used to be an overpass or part of it)

I take this route for daycare and they absolutely need something to stop vehicles from ignoring the no pass-through sign. Most drivers are fine but the odd driver decides they need to expedite their journey and push through or threaten us by tailing close and honking. Really not fun!

The poster encourages drivers to try it and then tell their councillor. Now that I understand the diverter, I don't think most drivers will care. You are being diverted onto an arterial road, but don't need to back track in majority of cases.
