Star Wars: Why the Left Should Protect the Status of Space as Humanity’s Commons Wealthy countries and corporations are seeking to rewrite international law to undermine the neutrality of space and privatise its land and resources.

Great overview by @cibled.bsky.social for @cmmonwealth.bsky.social here who is also writing an excellent chapter on the convergence of “space libertarians” and venture capital for a volume we are working on.

One of the many ways the 1970s is a foreign country is how marginal this vision of space was. Common heritage of mankind, site for international cooperation, frontier of research. The fight to make it a “perfect playground for libertarian billionaires” was a long one.

The cover of our book entitled PEAK PHARMA: TOWARD A NEW POLITICAL ECONOMY OF HEALTH.

In the 1980s, a monster was assembled in the pharmaceutical world that pitted patients' interests against those of pharmaceutical investors: the neoliberal pharma model. In PEAK PHARMA w/ @susigeiger.bsky.social, out today @academic.oup.com, we show that this monster is entering a crucial phase...

Check out the brilliant @cibled.bsky.social in @econsocjournal.bsky.social on the extremes of Becker's human capital theory & its normalisation of inequality.

My new article with @econsocjournal.bsky.social on Gary Becker's analyses on suicide is out! I use Becker's assertion that ‘Most (if not all!) deaths are to some extent suicides’ to reflect on how the late Chicago School framed death and mortality as a choice, thus normalising mortality inequality

You will not see a more tangible encapsulation of the genocide. A war of utter annihilation waged as a joint enterprise between the Israeli state on the ground and its allies in consistent support. The debt of reparations that the West owes to the Palestinian people at this point is incalculable.
