The more I've seen, read, and heard of Auchincloss the more I like him. I hope he can become prominent in Democrat circles.

It seems like progressives the world over will always struggle though, because their ideas involve nuance and aren't always easy to boil down to 3 or 4 words. But at the very least they can ensure their ideas can't be reduced to a negative 3 or words, which conservative parties are very good at.

The rest of the CGT plan on investment properties should be open for discussion though. I personally would cap it at 2 or 3 to make it politically viable going into an election and getting it through parliament. But getting rid of it entirely should be the end goal.

The family home is fully exempt from CGT. No discount to be applied. That shouldn't change, and no politician would try to tax the family home.
