I'm a southern Gen Xer. The hip punks, goths, and alternatives with the liberal (or at least nihilistic, non-political yet accepting views) were the "weird" minority. The Steff McKee's, and their poorer brethren, were much more prevalent and dismissive, if not violent, to the Duckie Dales.

While not a librarian, I do work for the library. My office was overflowing with pop-culture ephemera - figures, posters, books, toys, framed albums, etc. Coworkers stopped by to gawk and play. But I now work from home. A few tchotchkes on the shelf behind me during a zoom is not quite the same.

And many years ago I bought it for my kids and they enjoyed it! Great story, great art!

It took a while for the mineral water to get to South Carolina (maybe 2021?) but my wife loved it and then... boom... there was the alcoholic seltzer and we knew it was the end. Haven't bought it since. This is a whole different level of brand abuse.

Back yard is nearly full of native plants and flowers for bees & insects. We can't plant in the side yard (we're on a corner) because of all the buried lines (phone, cable, etc). Nor in the front yard beyond what was planted by the builders 18 years ago. We're required to maintain a lawn by the HOA.

Not sure it's the worst but has to be the only one that uses the phrase "inclement weather."

I had another sport celebrity run-in working at a golf course in Northern Virginia in the 80s. I stopped to let golfers go by and it was Joe Jacoby and Russ Grimm. The hole was very hilly and their golf cart couldn't get them both up the hill. So Grimm got out, shrugged at me, and walked it.

He later rode back by and told me he was quitting for the day. He'd birdied the next two holes and said it would only go downhill from there.

I was working on a golf course in upstate South Carolina when Hall of Famer Jim Rice stopped me on my tractor so I could witness him pulling the ball out of the hole after he sunk it on his second shot on a par 5 (an albatross).
