He was so fortunate, mighty relief all round when the offer came through. His undergrad was at St Andrews, another university town where people are often scrambling over each other to find any accommodation, let alone affordable.

My son was extremely lucky to get an on-campus room at TCD at the last minute. Otherwise the prices in Dublin for anything other than a shared bedroom were looking prohibitive
