I never applied for tickets for this World Cup knowing it was going to be a disaster, especially in conjunction with Ticketmaster.
But for those who did, don't you have to submit some sort of ID, like a passport number in order to do so? To avoid scalpers
That's been my experience in the past.

News: 2026 World Cup "variable pricing" is already off and running.
Prices increased slightly (~5%) for at least nine games after the very first day of sales.

I think last season's defense in the postseason doesn't help matters either.
For reference I paid €195 for a semi-final between Spain and France in 2024. For a match featuring Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe.
I paid less than that for what was a semi-final between England and Denmark at Wembley for Euro 2020. Reselling it only got my money back.
