The distinction is important because it is key to understanding what science is, as a human process. Science is the formalization of recognizing our lack of knowledge about something, and the process by which we learn about that something.

Stupidity is an external construct used to alienate.

An important aspect of raising emotionally intelligent children is helping them identify their feelings. Feeling stupid & feeling ignorant are distinct feelings that should be understood as such.

Not understanding a scientific process makes us feel our ignorance, which we can then harness to learn

Once again, it's not stupidity that drives science. It's ignorance. Without ignorance there is no science.

Stupid means you lack the cognitive capacity to understand.

Please, for the love of reliable knowledge, use the terms correctly.

This is not pedantry, this is correcting misconceptions.
