The flyer announces a phonebanking session targeting South Asian voters in swing districts represented by Republicans. Volunteers will encourage voters to ask their representatives to oppose proposed Trump administration budget cuts to NIH and NSFโ38% from NIH and 55% from NSFโwith $3.8 billion already withheld. It notes that a link to attend the virtual event will be emailed upon RSVP at Standupforscience.net. The background features an image of the Statue of Liberty and a QR code. The Stand Up for Science logo appears at the bottom. The flyer uses bold red text on a light beige background.

This is amongst the most impactful two minutes of broadcasting Iโve ever seen.
By Emma Murphy, International Editor, ITV News. #Gaza
"Texas House Democrats abandoned their duty to Texans. By fleeing the state, Texas House Democrats are holding hostage critical legislation to aid flood victims and advance property tax relief. There are consequences for dereliction of duty." TEXAS GOVERNOR GREG ABBOTT ORDERS ARREST OF DEMOCRATS WHO FLED THE STATE UNTIL ALL RETURN TO TEXAS CAPITOL
I wonder if anybody else sees the irony in the โdereliction of dutyโ bit. I thought the duty was to the Constitution and the people, not the whims and rigging of the POTUS.
Using a disaster to cover your racist redistricting plan to wipe out 5 democratic seats is shameful! Do better!
here: restofworld.org/2025/colombi...: that A.I. can create content but it can't think for you. Hence, part of the solution is what few pay attention to or care to fund: developing and supporting evidence-based didactics for critical thinking in science for scientists.
Sorry it's not sexy :-(.
As to A.I., Can A.I. create a convincing complete record of a scientific process? This means research notes, details on research question and hypothesis development, notes and comments on literature search, etc.? The key is internal consistency.
For me, this question returns to the point made >
This is a key table to understanding public opinion on migration. *When confronted with the real trade offs* people go for protecting the NHS and the economy over reducing migration.
The problem as per the rest of the thread is many don't believe those trade offs exist.
47% of people think immigration is primarily illegal. There were 4% irregular arrivals in March

I truly hope that it soon becomes clear to the majority that the current system is beyond salvaging, and that deep change is the only way out.
We need a new system to document, evaluate and archive COMPLETE scientific processes, not post-hoc interpretations . Papers, even the best, are still grossly incomplete, & not usable wrt transparency and reproducibility. The current A.I. fiasco is simply another layer on a deeply broken system.
