Alpine: Valencia. Hit the heights in the mid-2000s with top talent and a willingness to win ugly. Now being ruined by an owner who hasn't given a damn for years, while also trying to abandon their home. (11/11)

Sauber: Paris FC. Spent much of the last 15-20 years almost going out of business but not quite, but is now putting together results far above its budget, and has been taken over by people who are expecting them to compete at the top level in a few years. (10/11)

Williams: (AC) Milan. A name that evokes nostalgia in anyone who is over the age of 35, but a source of comedy to anyone younger. Have managed to pick up stars unwanted by other teams, with varying results. (9/11)

Haas: Brentford. Run on a tiny budget relative to the others, often picking up unheralded names, don't care if they have fewer fans. The big boss is mostly unseen. (8/11)

Racing Bulls: Bournemouth. Unaccountably brought up again and again as an underdog story, when they have limitless funding and a taxi rank of promising youngsters who seem to be generated randomly by a computer. (7/11)

Aston Martin: Newcastle. More money than God, sponsored by Saudi Arabia, seemingly always in administrative chaos. The boss likes to give jobs to his own family. (6/11)

Ferrari: Nottingham Forest. Keep messing about with their famous red colour scheme, Europeans revere their famous old headquarters, and they're run with the care and attention-to-detail of a village bazaar, and the empathy of Patrick Bateman. (5/11)

Mercedes: Barcelona. Gaining no sympathy for recent struggles, but have got over losing the statistical GOAT by finding a really very decent teenager. The team also has an Englishman who is best known for whining about others being unfair to him. (4/11)

Red Bull: Manchester City. Disliked by the majority of UK fans, often cited for not playing by the rules off-track, and have lost key backroom figures, but still have the best competitor in the sport bulldozing anyone else out of the way and using his supreme skill to take the points home. (3/11)

McLaren: Arsenal. Seem to have everything needed to win the championship, but are run by an utter charlatan and the team consists of dull twinks with no charisma. Will probably bottle the title with a couple of weeks to go. (2/11)
