Ah. That's where the whole thing falls apart. My people are a bit anarchic and wouldn't do it, and politicians mostly hate that! I'm watching Scotland but not overly optimistic.

once you start, you will find hunners of people. I tried to create a directory fifteen years ago and it defeated me, and it's only grown since then.

He's left it too late. He has lost too much support already, and he is visibly too unwell to cope. The best his backers could do would be for him to be assassinated, creating the right crisis, but Vance is already too exposed and unpopular to carry this off.

Perhaps that’s what she meant. I just hated every single frame of it with a virulent passion.

My daughter thought that was the aesthetic they were going for. Sort of Jetsons derived, which was a series I hated.

Not at all, but then cyberpunk is my least favourite genre. I did like Thunderbolts though my description of it as β€˜Queer Eye with explosions’ nearly finished my daughter off!

I wouldn't start with these files. Follow the money and the people you fish up will give you the Epstein files on a plate.

I am so upset.

Last week Time Magazine solicited a piece from me on Zohran Mamdani & anti-Muslim hate. I pitched a framing re the dehumanization of Muslims & how Mamdani’s inclusive, socialist campaign in its content resists that. They agreed. I wrote the piece. 1/

Wrote about this slow, miserable drift away from modern languages for @thenewworldmag.bsky.social last year.

This week's curriculum review won't help either.

Why use a Tory leaflet as source even if you believe it’s accurate? It makes you look lazy at best and absolutely corrupt at worst.

I think so, too, mostly, but can’t rule out the second, because weapons buyers seem to be incredibly gullible. The American forces were notoriously ripped off for years!

So. Have they spent large sums fixing mistakes they’re too embarrassed to tell us about, or have they been ripped off by processes similar to the PPE scandal? Either one shows a level of clusterbourach I thought we’d seen the back of.

Suppose all concerned apologise for the hurt caused to her students? Perhaps she thought they wouldn’t be able to read it?

04.11.2025 12:42 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Come to think about she would have had a lot to say about it in her own right. And in fact, she has. Talk about hurt caused!

I read it, she might have convinced someone in the fifties she meant well, but if she’d said what she wrote about her autistic classes about my autistic daughter she’d have had something to complain about.

Yes - back in the day it was seen as adolescents butting heads, but nowadays the forces of class snobbery and racism escalate it to a whole oppressive level across the wider society. Back in the day we had no idea what was coming.

Good grief, are we living in the sixties? I remember when boys hid their long hair by walking past the teachers with their heads tilted so far back their hair was hidden by their collars - and then punk came in, and they started penalising the short-haired ones as well!
