Some of us Peers tried to stop the worst measures with a Fatal Motion I tabled, but Labour refused to support it.

Putin and Trump both push global warming because they actually want melted ice caps and new northern real estate and shipping routes. Is it really just for Russia to sit tight while America takes Canada and Greenland? UN support?

If Trump is giving Putin some credibility and a bit of Ukraine, essentially propping up his regime, what is he taking from Putin in return? We probably won’t know for a while but it is likely to be about land. USA=10 million sq km, Canada =another 10, Greenland = another 2.

So let’s suppose that Trump’s negotiating the spoils of Ukraine with Putin is from a position of Trump knowing Putin is weak. Obviously he doesn’t care about Ukraine - they are weak and so have no say. 1 of 3 🧵
