Key facts:
Epilepsy is a chronic noncommunicable disease of the brain that affects people of all ages.
Around 50 million people worldwide have epilepsy, making it one of the most common neurological diseases globally.
Nearly 80% of people with epilepsy live in low- and middle-income countries.
It is estimated that up to 70% of people living with epilepsy could live seizure-free if properly diagnosed and treated.
The risk of premature death in people with epilepsy is up to three times higher than for the general population.
Three quarters of people with epilepsy living in low-income countries do not get the treatment they need.
In many parts of the world, people with epilepsy and their families suffer from stigma and discrimination.
Today is World #EpilepsyDay
#Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders.

i think people tend to forget that being able to get a passport is VERY much a privilege. i absolutely understand the push these past few months to encourage people to get them (especially in the US) - but not everyone can. $130+ is not affordable for a LOT of us.

i had to learn this too a few years ago - we work within the systems weβre all subjected to before we can even have some semblance of possibility to dismantle it in any meaningful way, and that is okay
weβre all doing our best!

tbh i donβt think there needs to be a distinction! either way youβre reading - whether youβre reading a paper physical book, an ebook, an audiobook, a book in braille - the book is still being consumed, so youβre reading :)

genuinely so proud of how well iβve been doing with my reading this year so far! i know itβs only a couple weeks in, but iβve finished 4 books so far (and iβm on a 53 day reading streak!) and just am really excited about that. :)

i love crocheting, reading, baking, thrifting, and pretty much anything cozy and fun, but i also love a good cocktail and watch true crime. iβm very covid-conscious (i mask everywhere and take lots of precautions) so itβs pretty important to me to hang out with likeminded folks in that regard! iβm married to my college sweetheart, have a cat named Helios, and iβm queer and disabled/chronically ill! music is a huge part of me too, and films/tv. iβm also audhd!
honestly i just really, really want a group of friends. even a small one. a best friend. just.. connection. making friends as an adult is SO hard (especially as a disabled adult with autism lol).
that being said: iβd love to be friends! π«ΆπΎ see things i love below from a post in a FB group!

Long covid has over 200 symptoms and no cure.
Covid harms every organ system.
The pandemic is ongoing.
