i think people tend to forget that being able to get a passport is VERY much a privilege. i absolutely understand the push these past few months to encourage people to get them (especially in the US) - but not everyone can. $130+ is not affordable for a LOT of us.

What is one simple act of resistance that will absolutely infuriate any authoritarian determined to make the world ignore pandemics and climate change?

Wearing a mask.

i had to learn this too a few years ago - we work within the systems we’re all subjected to before we can even have some semblance of possibility to dismantle it in any meaningful way, and that is okay

we’re all doing our best!

tbh i don’t think there needs to be a distinction! either way you’re reading - whether you’re reading a paper physical book, an ebook, an audiobook, a book in braille - the book is still being consumed, so you’re reading :)

genuinely so proud of how well i’ve been doing with my reading this year so far! i know it’s only a couple weeks in, but i’ve finished 4 books so far (and i’m on a 53 day reading streak!) and just am really excited about that. :)

how are y’all doing with your 2025 reading goal? #booksky

a reminder that audiobooks count as reading, because they ARE reading, and to believe otherwise is inherently ableist.

#RVA water update: Henrico County (all of it, including the western side now) is on a boil water advisory too, for probably at least 24-48 hours it seems. be careful, y’all.

the only real tip i’ve gotten is exposure therapy, but i also need other options til i get to that point (anxiety meds help, but i’m trying to compile info - ANY info helps).

i love crocheting, reading, baking, thrifting, and pretty much anything cozy and fun, but i also love a good cocktail and watch true crime. i’m very covid-conscious (i mask everywhere and take lots of precautions) so it’s pretty important to me to hang out with likeminded folks in that regard! i’m married to my college sweetheart, have a cat named Helios, and i’m queer and disabled/chronically ill! music is a huge part of me too, and films/tv. i’m also audhd!

honestly i just really, really want a group of friends. even a small one. a best friend. just.. connection. making friends as an adult is SO hard (especially as a disabled adult with autism lol).

that being said: i’d love to be friends! 🫢🏾 see things i love below from a post in a FB group!

ehlers danlos syndrome will never not shock me in some way from the sheer ridiculousness of it. because what do you MEAN i shifted in bed (the audacity 🫒) and my hip hopped out of its assigned seat?? like what actually even is that

if you aren’t taking covid precautions, can you really call yourself an advocate or activist for marginalized communities of any kind?

masking is an easy way to show your solidarity. please do.

when i tell you i am in the WORST reading slump 😭 could use some #BookRecs to get me out of it!

only thing i don’t read really is fantasy/romantasy, favourite genres are contemporary lit, lit fic, thrillers, maaaybe romance occasionally, and mythology retellings

MMJ πŸ’¨πŸƒ is so incredibly lifesaving for me and a lot of other people. being chronically ill and disabled with VERY high pain levels daily and a bunch of other debilitating symptoms, nothing else even gives me *close* to the same level of relief that gardening does. also helps my mental health! πŸ’š

The only way to prevent long covid is to prevent catching covid.

Long covid has over 200 symptoms and no cure.

Covid harms every organ system.
The pandemic is ongoing.

Mask up in public spaces.
Whatever health you have left is worth protecting.
